Dr. Juan Carlos Velez is a poultry veterinarian with over 25 years of experience in the poultry industry. He graduated from the National University of Colombia and began his career working on Ross Grandparent farms and hatcheries. He later served as a hatchery manager for multi-stage systems with Chick Master and Jamesway, followed by a role in Ecuador managing a PasReform single-stage hatchery — gaining six years of diverse hatchery management experience.

Dr. Velez then spent 12 years managing broiler breeder farms across different genetic lines. Under his leadership, flocks consistently achieved strong performance results, with over 200 eggs and 170 chicks per hen housed in several cycles. 

Since January 2018, he has been a key member of Aviagen’s technical service team for Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. He primarily supports customers in Mexico, helping them optimize the performance of their breeder operations and hatcheries through technical guidance and on-site support.
